Painting Christ in the Wilderness by Gwenda Branjerdporn

Christ in the Wilderness

Watercolour on a stretched canvas

10" x 10"

This is a painting with watercolour on canvas.  It is about Lent in the Christian calendar.  It has Christ sitting in a desert place.  There is nothing there.  On the rock beside him is a small cross.  This signifies that soon Christ will die on the cross.  There is a crow in the painting also.  It is painted black, signifying that soon Christ will die.  Christ is holding a bunch of White lilies.  The white flowers signify that Christ is pure and holy.  The green leaves signify that there is life in Christ now.  He has a crown on his head of small roses, which will soon be replaced by a crown of thorns.
